“Ginkakuji” is located at the foot of Mount Daimonji. “Ginkaku” , Silver Pavilion,was constructed in 1489.
The first floor was built in Shoin-zukuri style which is Japan’s residential style. The second floor was built in Zen Buddhism style.
“Ginshadan”, sea of silver sand, is designed to reflect Moon light to illuminate Ginkaku.
“Kogetsudai”, facing-moon mound, was used to sit on for enjoying moon-viewing
