Yatsuhashi is a cinnamon-flavored crispy cracker boast of its long history. It is popular not only in Japan but also in some other countries. Many of the tourists buy it as a souvenir for their family and friends.

About the origin of the name, every Yatsuhashi manufacturer has its original story. There are two dominant episodes about the name of Yatsuhashi.

One episode is related to the prominent koto player whose name is Yatsuhashi Kengyo. The shape of Koto is similar to Yatsuhashi.

Another is related to the garden famous for water iris with eight bridges. In fact, Yatsuhashi literary means eight bridges.
