Tenugui is a kind of Japanese traditional wiping cloth made of cotton. Approximately, 35cm ×90cm in size.

Tenugui “手ぬぐい”　literally means “Wiping hands” in Japanese.

Before the introduction of the towel(1872), it was an important part of daily life for Japanese people.

It is used for wiping hands, sweat, body when bathed, and cleaning tables, and other things.

These days tenugui is rich in designs and colors, therefore sometimes used for decoration or souvenir.

Some people use tenugui as a head cover when working outside or dust cover when cleaning.
