Kiyomizu-dera’s Renovation Works Completed

“The Large Scale Renovation of Heisei Era” of Kiyomizudera has completed in December 2020. Major renovation works were the replacement of roof materials and the floor planks of the Kiyomizu no Butai. The roof material is the bark of cypress tree and it took around 10 years to collect cypress bark from various areas in Japan. When I visited there, the floor boards smelled a bit cypress tree.
